Since I have always preferred my undead to drink blood, leave good-looking corpses, and be a little mysterious, I am delighted with the recent renaissance of vampires in film. It's no secret that vampires are the more cultured and intelligent dead. At least, that is what I thought until I watched Sunrise. Starring Guy Pearce and Alex Pettyfer, this Appalachian vampire movie broke many rules and seemed more folklore-based than a true vampire tale. But I digress. Has there ever been a more soulful blood drinker than Louis de Pointe du Lac in Anne Rice’sInterview with the Vampire? The answer will be revealed on May 12th when season 2 starts back on AMC. Take note of Abigail until then - it is a delightful gorefest packed with action, mystery, and horror… And for those who need something delightfully horrifying to look forward to, Bill Skarsgard is back in another terrifying role, but this time, he is swapping his clownsuit out to play Count Orlock in Nosfuerto - to be released around Christmas.
